Raking leaves this morning, I was struck by an incredible feeling of gratitude. Thinking back to kids jumping into huge piles of leaves.
3 of those kids are on their own now with one high schooler at home, but memories of those little faces and laughs were as clear as the days they once played.
As the weather cools, I’m looking forward to trips to the apple orchard for warm cider and fresh donuts, sitting by the fire at night with a glass of red wine.
And of course comfort food! – Pot roasts, homemade mac and cheese, fresh bread and apple pie.
As a cancer survivor, I know now more than ever that each day is a gift and each action is a decision.
May your days be filled with joy, love and laughter, and most of all, great health.
Here’s to the memories. I have a renewed zest to create new ones. I hope you’ll join me.
